Bosnia women's handball national team defeated Italy on Saturday in the second round of the first phase of the 2022 European championship qualifiers, marking their first victory in 14 years and returning to the official European Handball Federation's list.
The match played in Greece ended with the result 25-22 in favour of the Bosnians.
Bosnia is now taking second place in the Qualification Group B, ahead of Latvia and Italy, and with Greece as the current group leader. The next match the Bosnians will play is set for Sunday against Latvia.
Only the first team in the group will proceed to the next stage of the Qualifications.
The women's handball national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina reassembled in March this year, after a 13-year break and Radan Rovcaninc was appointed the team's head coach.
