The establishment of the Bosnian Academy of Sciences and Arts 'Kulin Ban' – BANUK, whose members are scientists of various profiles, was made official on Thursday in Sarajevo, and its goal is to help Bosnia on its way to the European Union.

During the press conference, BANKU President Suad Kurtcehajic described the academy as multiethnic and as the beginning of a gathering of what he said could be called the Bosnian elite.

Kurtcehajic expects that the academy will be given a certain time, at least a year and a half, to see if they have fulfilled the purpose of their existence.

One of the Vice Presidents of the Academy, Elijas Tauber, pointed this out as a new impetus in the development of science in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as an opportunity to enable many young scientists to have space to act. Through scientific and publishing activities, he adds, they intend to enable the presentation of everything that is important for science in BiH. He says that they are already preparing books, as a result of the scientific work of members of the academy.
