Bosnian Croat leader discusses BiH's EU path with ambassadors of Israel and Russia

The leader of HDZ BiH and Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Covic, held separate meetings today with the ambassadors of Israel, Galit Peleg, and Russia, Igor Kalabukhov. According to a brief statement on social media, they discussed, among other things, bilateral relations and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path.

“As the European path remains BiH’s main priority, so too do peace, stability, integrity, and the constitutional framework,” Covic said.
“At the meeting with Peleg, one of the topics was also bilateral relations and the current political situation in BiH. It is important to continue working on our EU reforms, while ensuring full and lasting protection of the rights of BiH’s constituent peoples,” Covic said.
Covic and numerous HDZ BiH officials attended the celebration of Israel’s 77th Independence Day in Mostar, which concluded with fireworks above the city. This provoked criticism from parts of the BiH public, due to Israel’s siege of the Gaza Strip and the ensuing humanitarian catastrophe.
