The umbrella organisation of Bosnia’s Croat ethnic parties strongly condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, saying that the move violates Ukraine’s sovereignty and the norms of international law and democracy.

“Disturbing scenes of concern, suffering and destruction are reminders of the importance of peace and stability in Southeast Europe, which is still healing from the devastation of the war of the last century,” said the Croat National Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HNS BiH).

“Peace and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire region, especially at this moment, must be indisputable and completely protected from all threats,” the statement said.

The HNS BiH expressed full support to the institutions of the European Union in their activities on the issue, emphasising that this invasion requires “a strong response from the European Union and the international community.”
