Bosnian Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic signed a decision that regulates and closely coordinates the actions of employees in Bosnia and Herzegovina's diplomatic-consular offices abroad in line with relevant laws, in regard with the display of the flag and other insignia of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diplomatic-Consular Offices of Bosnia and Herzegovina use the coat of arms, flag and anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, taking into account laws, other regulations, practices and current opportunities in the state of reception,” reads that statement, noting that all employees of the aforementioned institutions are “obliged to inform the competent personnel of the Foreign Affairs Ministry if they notice any irregularities with the country's insignia during events.
Also, the minister prescribed “a reaction” in case if the coat of arms or the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina are publicly used, exposed or displayed” contrary to the Law on the Coat of Arms of BiH or the Law on the Flag of BiH, or if the anthem is performed in a way that is contrary to adequate law.
The assistant minister and chief of the diplomatic-consular offices are obliged to immediately launch procedures to fix inappropriately used insignia and inform the foreign minister about the coat of arms or the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina being inappropriately displayed or exposed during bilateral or multilateral meetings, international competitions and other related events.
