Enya Culum is one of 280 volunteers at the Eurobasket in Cologne. Even though she was born in Germany, Culum supports Bosnia with all her heart and dreams of one day being invited to the BiH women's basketball team.

Eyna Culum volunteers at the European Championship. He will watch all the matches of Bosnia’s national basketball team in the group.

“I am here until September 7. I travelled as much as five and a half hours, but I’d give everything for basketball, everything for love and for Bosnia, of course,” says the twenty-five-year-old at the beginning of the conversation with N1.

Enya is also a basketball player, and she inherited her love for this sport from home. Her dad played for local basketball clubs Sloboda and her mom for Jedinstvo.

“They stayed in Germany with basketball. My dad, Goran Culum, was the coach of the Bavarian regional team. My mom, Zvjezdana Bakic-Culum, won the European Championship with Yugoslavia. So I grew up playing basketball from a young age. I now play in the third league here in Germany,” Enya tells us and adds:

“It couldn't be any other way. It's the only sport that suits me. I was three months old when mom started to play, and I was on the side in the lounger. My brothers also play basketball. The younger brother played for Bayern for four years. Older brother still plays.”

Culum also has a great desire.

“I hope that one day I will play for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s national team. That's what I'm working on. The BiH jersey is my goal in life,” the Bosnian girl with an address in Munich said for N1.

She watched all the Dragons’ matches special emotion.

“I was born near Munich, but I have to tell you that it is an indescribable feeling when Bosnia plays. I can't describe it to you, the atmosphere was breathtaking. Everyone's dream is to experience something like that,” the Eurobasket volunteer tells N1.

The young basketball player shared her experiences of living in Germany and temporarily in BiH.

“I am a foreigner in Germany, and when I come to Bosnia I am a German. It’s not easy to survive and experience it. However, you have influence as a foreigner, because we are welcome at any time, anywhere in the world. As a Bosnian, the first thing I mentioned was kebabs, everyone knows what kebabs are and where they are made best, and that’s in Bosnia. Everyone knows us by the kebabs,” she recalled.

“The support of Bosnians and Herzegovinans from all over the world is incredible, I got goosebumps every game, it's incredible. Let that love spread from person to person. Normally, we are peculiar people, but when we come to a game like this, then we are the strongest. Everyone knows that we know how to celebrate, to rejoice, and everyone loves to see us, to see something like that, to experience it in Germany,” Enya noted.

Her message to Bosnians and Herzegovinans:

“Support our team, stay as you are. We are the strongest. I love Bosnia”
