Bosnia’s Council of Ministers, as the government is officially called, unanimously adopted the Finance Ministry’s proposal on temporary financing of BiH institutions and international obligations from October to December 2021, in the amount of 249 million Bosnian marks (some €124 million).
The decision, which comes into force on October 1, 2021, was welcomed by Bosnia’s Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic saying a “complete blockade of state institutions has been averted.”
“Today, the Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the Decision on temporary financing, which prevented a complete blockade of the work of BiH institutions. This is an important step towards the normalization of work, we expect to schedule a postponed regular session as soon as possible. We still have important decisions ahead of us in the interest of the citizens,” Turkovic wrote.

Bosnian Serb Ministers and officials in other state institutions began the boycott of the work of BiH institutions after the former international community’s High Representative Valentin Inzko imposed the ban on genocide denial and glorification of war criminals.
This, they said, was a ban on freedom of expression and called for the abolishment of the said ban, otherwise, they would not take part in the work of BiH institutions.
