Bosnian minister who was recently apprehended due to suspicion of abuse of office has resigned, according to local media.
According to Srpska.info, Milos Lucic, the Minister for Human Rights and Refugees, submitted the resignation to the Chairman of Council of Ministers Zoran Tegeltija.
Reportedly, he said in his resignation letter that “the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina generated a media campaign against him which severely violated his right to the presumption of innocence.” He added that one instance proving his claim is a statement in which the Prosecutor's Office condemned the Court's decision ordering only injunction measures “which are contrary to the strategic determination of the institutions in fighting corruption.”
Lucic was apprehended on December 6 at order of Bosnia's Prosecutor's Office over suspicion of abuse of office. The State Court ordered the injunction measures against the minister.
