Members of the Una Sana Canton’s (USK) police detained an 18-year-old Afghan who is suspected of having seriously wounded his compatriot J.M. with a knife during New Year's Eve, after which he later died of his injuries at the Cantonal Hospital in Bihac.
This event took place not far from the Lipa migrant camp, a few kilometres from Bihac.
"Through intensive work in the field, we obtained operational information about how he could have committed the murders, and he was arrested in cooperation with State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) members in the Sarajevo area and then brought to the USC. This person has been handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of the USK for further proceedings," said Ale Siljdedic, the spokesperson of the USK police.
On the mentioned night, the police patrol went to the scene in the vicinity of the Lipa camp and found a person with stab wounds.
It was established that this person is not a beneficiary of the migrant camp and the event took place outside its borders.
The injured man was transported by an ambulance to the Cantonal Hospital in Bihac, where he died a few hours laterNezavisne novine daily reported.
