Bosnian referees Tatjana Prastalo and Vesna Balvan have been given the opportunity to officiate at this European Championship, as announced by the Handball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Tatjana and Vesna have been holders of the IHF (International Handball Federation) badge since last year and officiated the Women's Champions League final last year. The referees from Banja Luka officiated the bronze medal match at the Women's Euro in Slovenia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia two years ago.

In addition to them, the following referee pairs have been nominated: Ana Vranes/Marlis Wenninger (Austria), Georgi Doychinov/Yulian Goretsov (Bulgaria), Javier Alvarez Mata/Yon Bustamante Lopez (Spain), Yann Carmaux/Julien Mursch (France), Maike Merz/Tanja Kuttler (Germany), Kristof Altmar/Marton Horvath (Hungary), Gianna Stella Merisi/Andrea Alejandra Pepe (Italy), Tomas Barysas/Povilas Petrusis (Lithuania), Igor Covalciuc/Alexei Covalciuc (Moldova), Jelena Vujacic/Andjelina Kazanegra (Montenegro), William Weijmans/Rick Wolbertus (Netherlands), Eskil Braseth/Leif Andre Sundet (Norway), Cristina Lovin/Simona Raluca Stancu (Romania), Ozren Backovic/Mirko Palackovic (Slovenia), Vanja Antic/Jelena Jakovljevic (Serbia), Pinar Unlu Hatipoglu/Mehtap Simsek (Turkey), and Arina Duplii/Olena Pobedrina (Ukraine).

These pairs will officiate a total of 65 matches, and as preparation for the Euro, they will attend a Course for Referees and Delegates at the end of September. This is the first time the Women's European Championship will feature 24 teams, and also the first time Austria and Switzerland are hosting the Women's Euro.

Two groups will play in Basel, Innsbruck, and Debrecen, with the second phase taking place in Debrecen and Vienna, which will also host the final weekend.
