Bosnia's average net salary reaches 1,691 marks in May

The average monthly net salary paid per employee in legal entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina in May 2026 amounted to 1,691 Bosnian marks (approx. € 864.14), representing a nominal increase of 0.4 percent and a real increase of 1.3 percent compared to April 2026.

Compared with May 2025, the average monthly net salary in May 2026 was 7.4 percent higher in nominal terms. Over the same period, the real index increased by 1.7 percent.
The highest average net salaries were recorded in the information and communication sector at 2,241 marks (approx. € 1,145.81), financial and insurance activities at 2,194 marks (approx. € 1,121.78), and human health and social work activities at 2,157 marks (approx. € 1,102.87), according to data from the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The lowest average net salaries in May 2026 were recorded in accommodation and food service activities at 1,181 marks (approx. € 603.85), construction at 1,306 marks (approx. € 667.77), and wholesale and retail trade along with the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles at 1,372 Bosnian marks (approx. € 701.52).
The average monthly gross salary paid per employee in legal entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina in May 2026 amounted to 2,631 marks (approx. € 1,345.21), representing a nominal increase of 0.5 percent and a real increase of 1.4 percent compared to April 2026.
Compared with May 2025, the average monthly gross salary in May 2026 was 7.8 percent higher in nominal terms. Over the same period, the real index increased by 2.1 percent.
