Bosnian most rewarded cross-country and mountain bike cyclist Lejla Tanovic will finish the season as the eighth female cyclist on the International Cycling Union's (UCI) list in her category, after the most successful year in her career.

Tanovic won two world cup medals in 2021 as well as six titles in UCI races, breaking her own record of victories in one year.

She also won the title of the Balkan champion for the fifth straight year.

“The season kicked off very bad because I was having lot of trouble with allergies and by the mid-season I was out of top 10 in the world. But, with quality training and preparations I got back into the shape and rode the best season of my career,” said Tanovic.

Next year, Bosnia's best female cyclist plans to get among top five in the world.

She will start the new training cycle the next week already and the first new race comes in February 2022.
