The truth about the Srebrenica genocide was established by the international court for former Yugoslavia and everyone in the world and the region should respect it, the Bosniak member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency, Sefik Dzaferovic, said Wednesday welcoming the Kosovo Assembly's decision to adopt the Resolution on Srebrenica.

Dzaferovic noted that only on the basis of truth and justice can trust be restored, healthy relations built and peace strengthened in this part of Europe.

The Kosovo Assembly passed the Resolution condemning the Srebrenica genocide. Eighty-nine deputies voted for the adoption of the Resolution, no one was against or abstained. Before the vote, representatives of the Serb List left the Assembly.

The Kosovo Assembly adopted the Resolution just days before the 26th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica, at the suggestion of the Bosniak community living in Kosovo.

The Resolution bans the denial of the Srebrenica genocide and represents an act of solidarity with the suffering of Bosniaks from BiH.

With the adoption of the Resolution, Kosovo joined many democratic countries and international institutions that condemned the genocide in Srebrenica and showed solidarity in terms of condemning that horrific crime committed in the heart of Europe.
