Bosnia's election authority dismisses requests for annulment of elections

Bosnia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) rejected the requests submitted by parties to annul the General Elections in the country and the election for the President of BiH’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity.

The Bosnian Party (BOSS) submitted a request for the elections to be annulled, while the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) and the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP) demanded the annulment of the RS President election.

The CEC said that the requests were inadmissible because the recount of votes has not been completed and the final result has not been determined yet.

The CEC also ordered a recount of ballots from 22 polling stations, 5 in regard to the election for members of the BiH Presidency, five for the Parliamentary Assembly, eight for the Parliament of the Federation (FBiH) entity and two for the RS National Assembly.
