Due to the non-adoption of decisions on securing funds for the 2022 General Elections in BiH, some previously announced tenders were annulled, Thursday and members of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina warned that time is running out and that funds must be secured by the end of today.

The Head of the Central Election Commission of BiH, Suad Arnautovic, said that due to the non-adoption of funds necessary for the implementation of the upcoming General Elections in October, they must now annul the entire procedure. In addition to not securing funds, the submitted bids are drastically higher than initially planned due to inflation.

“We had a proposal in June last year. The assessment is now a drastically different situation,” Arnautovic said.

Arnautovic said that the funds for the elections should have been secured Wednesday. Other commission members agree with the stated views that May 19 is the deadline for securing funds, noting that statements that it is possible to ensure funds in June or July are unfounded, adding that the CEC has already warned that this is technically impossible.
