Bosnia’s exports up 6.8% in Q1 2025, trade deficit reaches €1.57 Billion
Bosnia and Herzegovina recorded 4.116 billion Bosnian marks (€2.10 billion) in exports during the first quarter of 2025, marking a 6.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to official data.

Imports over the same period reached 7.184 billion marks (€3.67 billion), reflecting a 5.5 percent annual growth. As a result, the trade deficit widened to 3.068 billion marks (€1.57 billion), with exports covering just 57.3 percent of imports.
Trade with CEFTA countries remained strong, with exports rising 13.2 percent to 688 million marks (€351.8 million), while imports surged 18.6 percent to 882 million marks (€451.2 million). The export-to-import ratio for CEFTA stood at 77.9 percent.
Meanwhile, exports to the European Union climbed 5.2 percent year-on-year to 3.038 billion Bosnian marks (€1.55 billion), while imports from EU member states reached 4.189 billion marks (€2.14 billion), up 3.1 percent. The export-import coverage ratio with the EU was 72.5 percent.
