Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity parliament adopted the Budget for 2022 in the amount of 4,024 billion Bosnian marks (approx. €2 billion), during Wednesday’s special session.
RS Minister of Finance Zora Vidovic, explained the Draft Budget for 2022, emphasizing that it is largely a welfare budget, aimed at protecting the population, given inflation worldwide, but at the same time, it plans for an increase in workers’ wages.
Explaining the RS Draft Economic Reforms for the period 2022-2024, RS Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic said that projected rates of economic growth in the period 2022-2024. in the RS will amount to 4.5, then 4.3 and 4.6 percent, which is the result of the recovery of domestic demand in the entity, gradual recovery of export demand and the positive effect of investments.
He said that the main goals of the RS Government policies for the 2018-2022 term were implemented through seven priorities, namely: the economic productivity with the aim of increasing wages, sustainable health system, efficient overall public sector, education system and labour market adapted to the needs of the economy, improving the demographic position of Republika Srpska, research, development, innovation and the digital economy, and European integration, regional and international cooperation.
