The first health workers from Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity who have expressed a desire to be vaccinated in Serbia, will start the vaccination process on Thursday, RS Health Minister Alen Seranic said Wednesday adding that they agreed with Serbia on the vaccination of 5,000 health workers and employees in social protection institutions.
The vaccination of BiH citizens in Serbia will be held in Sremska Mitrovica and Loznica, and will soon be able to do so in Sabac. So far, 2,150 health workers have registered, and Seranic hopes that workers from nursing homes will also apply.
In the meantime, the RS authorities are working on the development of an application through which BiH citizens will be able to register for vaccination when the Russian Sputnik V arrives at this entity. According to Branislav Zeljkovic, the CEO of the RS Institute of Public Health, the application will be operational in 15-20 days.
The vaccination process of health workers from the Prijedor Hospital started on Tuesday when 35 workers were vaccinated, which was greeted with loud applause.
