After the state-owned BH Telecom announced that it will turn off the N1 signal on its cable platform Moja TV and leave hundreds of thousands of viewers without the opportunity to watch the recognizable content of the news television N1, the Embassy of Great Britain and the Office of the High Representative (OHR) voiced their support for media freedom.

“The United Kingdom strongly supports media freedom and pluralism. Access to various media sources and analyzes is crucial for citizens in order to be able to make their own, informed opinions and decisions,” stated the Embassy of Great Britain in BiH.

“The OHR does not comment on business decisions of commercial legal entities. However, it is of the greatest importance to ensure media diversity, that is, to enable BiH citizens to receive information about events from different sources. It would be a shame to deny them the opportunity to have access to the program and this television channel”, the OHR said.

Also, earlier on Tuesday, the OSCE Mission in BiH and the US Embassy said that they support media freedom.
