Djordje Mijatovic, the brother of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Vojin Mijatovic, was killed on Sunday in Belgrade, Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic confirmed.
The Belgrade media reported that Mijatovic was beaten to death by hooligans in a children’s park in Belgrade’s residential area Vozdovac.
“At around 6-7 pm last night the police received a call about a fight, they went to the address in the Vozdovac municipality and found the injured person and his wife. He was taken to the ER where he died,” Dacic told Blic TV.
He added that Mijatovic’s son had previously complained that his ball had been taken and that he was being harassed by two men.
Dacic said the doctors are working to establish whether he died from the beating, that an autopsy will be performed and that the doctors say he also had epileptic seizures.
Telegraf.rs learns that Mijatovic’s son had complained to his father that he was being harassed by some men in the park, that Mijatovic then went to the park where, after a brief argument, the two men attacked him and beat him up.
He was admitted to the hospital in critical condition and succumbed to the injuries.
