The conflicts that erupt among migrants staying in Bosnia and Herzegovina are mostly related to cultural or religious differences, officials told N1.
Three migrants from Afghanistan suspected of killing a Pakistani migrant on Friday, April 15, in the city alley in Bihac, were arrested in Sarajevo.

The tragic event again raised the issue of the security situation in Sarajevo and the northwestern town of Bihac, where the largest number of migrants is located.
In a statement for N1, Nermin Kljajic, the Minister of the Interior of the Una-Sana Canton (USK), blamed the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs for the situation.
“It is certainly not good that such things are happening, especially in the urban area of Bihac, although this year we have the smallest number of migrants, we have such serious crimes. The Service for Foreigners’ Affairs is not doing its job because these people should have been expelled a year ago,” he said.
He points out that an investigation is underway into how these people got their weapons, and that there is a huge interest in identifying groups that are involved in arms smuggling.
The most common reasons for conflicts among migrants are cultural, religious or traditional, Kljajic said, adding that this is especially the case between groups of Pakistanis and Afghans.
He said that currently there are about 800 migrants in the USK and that in 2022 there was no increase in their number so far.
According to the director of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, Slobodan Ujic, the state maintains control over the situation.
“In the first four months, we had 191 illegal migrants who were returned to their home countries. This mostly refers to citizens of Turkey, about 70 percent of them, followed by China, India, Pakistan and Cuba,” he said.
Last year, 660 people were returned by readmission, most of them were returned to their countries of origin, while there are also those who return to the countries from which they entered BiH.
“Those who commit crimes will be held accountable. They will be dealt with by the inspectorates themselves and the Prosecutor's Office. We have the most problems with the citizens of Afghanistan. According to current indicators, they are the most frequent perpetrators of serious crimes and criminal acts,” he said.
