The construction of the tram line from Ilidza to Hrasnica starts Wednesday, and the deadline for the completion of the works is 18 months.

As announced earlier, the construction of this part of the railway (13 kilometres in two directions) will cost 50 million Bosnian marks (some €25 million), and the money is secured by a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The investor is the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Transport.

The contractor is a consortium of Turkish companies Yapi Merkezi Insaat ve Sanayi A.S. and Yapiray Demiryolu Insaat Sistemleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.

During the construction of the tram line to Hrasnica, the turnpike at Ilidza will be reconstructed, while in Famos in Hrasnica, there will be a turnpike to Ilidza.
