Crishock assumes office from Schmidt, says focus remains on upholding the Dayton Peace Agreement

Louis J. Crishock today assumed the role of Acting High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina after being appointed to the position by the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC), stating that he will carry out the mandate in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement, with a focus on preserving peace and stability and supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina’s institutions.

The Office of the High Representative (OHR) announced on social media platform X that the PIC Steering Board appointed Louis J. Crishock as Acting High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, thereby taking over the role from former High Representative Christian Schmidt.
Crishock expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him by the PIC Steering Board.
"I will carry out this mandate in accordance with the General Framework Agreement for Peace and the authorities entrusted to the High Representative. We remain focused on preserving peace and stability, supporting the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and ensuring full respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement and the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina," Crishock stated.
Former High Representative Christian Schmidt congratulated Acting High Representative Crishock and wished him every success in carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to him.
