"I reiterated Croatia’s firm support for the Dayton Peace Agreement and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path," Grlic-Radman wrote.
He described the meeting with Schmidt as "very constructive."
The minister added that the discussion focused on political representation of Croats, electoral legislation, and the preservation of the constitutional order.
Croats, who are three times fewer in number than Bosniaks in the Federation of BiH, emphasise that they are outvoted by the larger Bosniak population. This has occurred four times in elections for the Croat member of the BiH Presidency, in which Željko Komšić was elected with Bosniak votes.
"Croatia remains the strongest advocate for stability and economic prosperity in neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina, continuously promoting dialogue, institutional functionality, and equality of all three constituent peoples," Grlić Radman.
The Dayton - Paris Agreement was initialed on 24 November in Dayton, Ohio, USA, and signed in Paris on 14 December 1995. It brought an end to the 1991-1995 war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which claimed more than 100,000 lives and displaced two million people, establishing constitutional system for the post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina.
