Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic called the Monday protest in Sarajevo against High Representative Christian Schmidt’s alleged plans to impose changes to Election Law “awful and unacceptable” and “evidence the country needed the Peljesac bridge."
Speaking in Dubrovnik Tuesday on the occasion of the opening of the Peljesac Bridge, Plenkovic said that the Sarajevo protest against Christian Schmidt's announced measures related to amendments to the Election Law and certain constitutional changes in the Federation of BiH entity, was “awful and unacceptable, and even threatening with protests to the High Representative Christian Schmidt shows that this bridge is not a luxury for Croatia, it is a necessity.”
According to the Prime Minister, the Peljesac Bridge is the embodiment of what Croatia is today, compared to what it wanted to be before.
“We’re pursuing strategic national interests with a strong international position and full confidence and vision in what we do,” Plenkovic said.
