Bosnian sevdah singer and instrumentalist Damir Imamovic was rewarded The Best of Europe recognition at this year's annual Songlines Music Awards 2021 ceremony on Sunday evening.
Imamovic was rewarded for his ‘Singer of Tales’ album, produced by Joe Boyd and Andrea Goertler.
He dedicated the award to his late father, Bosnian musician Nedzad Imamovic, who passed away last year.
The album already won critical acclaim and some of the recognitions include the Transglobal World Music Chart number one position in July 2020 and the best album award of traditional music by German association of music critics in March 2020.
The online award ceremony was hosted by Welsh singer and author Cerys Matthews.
