At an emergency session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Darko Culum was not dismissed from his position as Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), as confirmed to N1.
Stasa Kosarac reportedly blocked the agenda item that proposed voting solely on the dismissal. Meanwhile, ministers from the Troika coalition refused to vote for Culum's dismissal without simultaneously appointing an acting director for SIPA.
As it stands, the current situation remains unchanged, with individuals appointed by Darko Culum continuing to perform functions. However, they have no actual authority. According to insiders, this state of affairs is currently considered the best option, as the biggest issue would arise if Culum were dismissed without appointing new acting officials.
On Tuesday, Darko Culum announced his resignation as SIPA Director, stating that the decision was made in accordance with laws and the conclusions adopted by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska. However, these decisions have been temporarily annulled by the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It’s worth noting that on March 5, Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, signed decrees enacting unconstitutional laws passed by the National Assembly.
