National flags are flying at half-mast on Friday across Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the country is marking the day of mourning for the victims of the mass shooting that took place in a school in Belgrade on Wednesday.

The Council of Ministers passed a decision on declaring May 5 a day of mourning in a session held Thursday evening.

“The flags on the institutions of BiH will be at half-mast, TV and radio content as well as sports and other events planned for that day need to be adjusted to the Day of mourning,” the state government decided.

Serbia will mark Friday, Saturday and Sunday as the days of mourning.

Decision comes after a 13-year-old killed eight students and a security guard at his school in a planned attack.

Bosnian state officials extended condolences and paid respects to the victims at the site of the accident.
