The death toll following Thursday's accident in a chemical plant in Kočevje, Slovenia has risen to six after one of the two workers hospitalised in Ljubljana for sustaining severe burns in the explosion and fire died last night, the plant's director, Srecko Stefanic, said on Friday.

The police are expected to reveal the first results of an investigation of the accident today, but Stefanic said yesterday already it was most likely caused by human error.

The fatalities are one plant employee and five employees of a company from Ljubljana who were repairing electrical wiring in the area of the plant where an explosion occurred.

The plant Melamin makes melamine resins used in the chemical, rubber and construction industries.
