The deputy chairman of BiH’s Council of Ministers, Stasa Kosarac, said that the Working group for the judiciary has not yet agreed on the text of the Law on the courts of BiH that the Council of Ministers is expected to discuss on Tuesday and that it will not be supported by ministers from BiH’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity.
“Such a solution will certainly not get the support of the ministers from the RS in the Council of Ministers, because we will not vote for the text of the law on which the RS did not give a positive opinion”, said Kosarac.
He says that his position is that the law should be fully harmonised and then go through the procedure, which would be the best way to ensure that it will pass.
Kosarac said that there is enough time and that it is necessary to allow the working group to finish the work they started.
“Our position is that it is necessary to ensure independence in the work of the Appellate Division, that is, to prevent the influence of foreigners and their conditioning. That's why we insist that the seat of the Appellate Division be in the RS”, he stressed.
The Chair of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Kristo, previously announced that the agenda of the next session of the CoM, which is scheduled for Tuesday, should include the Law on the Courts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
