A Transavia aircraft carrying 133 passengers was welcomed with a ceremonial water salute, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by airport officials, representatives of local authorities and the French Embassy.
Acting MAS Director Dino Selimovic said the introduction of the route is a result of the airport’s incentive programme, supported by the Government of the Federation of BiH and the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
Flights on the Sarajevo–Paris Orly route will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, with further expansion depending on passenger demand. Interest is expected from tourists, business travellers and the Bosnian diaspora in France.
French Ambassador to BiH François Delmas described the launch as a significant step in connecting the two capitals, noting it could encourage stronger economic and cultural exchanges.

The new route is expected to contribute to economic cooperation and further strengthen relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and France.
