Prof. Dr. Zvonimir Radeljkovic, one of the founders of the association, a prominent member, and at one time the president of P.E.N. Centre in BiH, distinguished professor, English scholar, literary translator, essayist, literary critic, and literary historian, has passed away Tuesday night at the age of 78.
Prof. Dr. Zvonimir Radeljkovic was born in Tuzla on October 26, 1943. He studied and graduated in 1967 from the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, in the English-German Language study group. He received his master's degree from Indiana University (Bloomington, IN, USA) in 1969. He received his doctorate in 1975 from the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo with the dissertation Thor's Significance in the Establishment of the American Literary Tradition. He died in Sarajevo on February 23, 2021.
He was a mentor and a member of several commissions for the masters and doctoral theses exams in Sarajevo and Zagreb.
As a visiting professor for one academic semester and more, he has lectured at Grand Valley State University (USA) and the universities of Zagreb and Osijek and has lectured at universities throughout Europe and America.
He won some of the most prestigious American (three Fulbright and ACLS), British and German research scholarships multiple times, including:
