During the meeting between representatives of BiH authorities, agreement was reached on many issues. The most important of which was the agreement on the Electoral Law, said Milorad Dodik, the President of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity.

“It was suggested that the House of Peoples vote against the current Law proposal and return it to the regular procedure. Also, it was proposed that the census should amount to four percent for local elections, and for the general election, it should be set at five percent,” Dodik pointed out.

He stated that the mandate belongs to the party, that the electoral lists should be closed and that preferences be abolished. Compulsory voting would also be imposed on all BiH citizens would face misdemeanour charges and fines if they did not vote.

The RS President noted that Elmedin Konakovic, the leader of the People and Justice (NiP) party and Nermin Niksic, the leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) correctly interpreted the results of the agreement.

“I'm sorry that it was leaked to the public. As usual, I made an overview of the positions and delivered them to the partners in the Federation (FBiH) entity. Unfortunately, it appeared in the media and they are now trying to question it, but as you can see, the reactions of the “troika” are almost identical to everything that was said,” Dodik stated and thanked for the correct relationship at the meeting.

“It was one of the more productive meetings and now it’s necessary to implement what was agreed upon,” he concluded.

The representatives of the state-level authorities held a meeting on Friday which was attended by Milorad Dodik (Alliance of Independent Social Democrats -SNSD), Radovan Viskovic (SNSD), Nenad Stevandić (United Srpska), Dragan Covic (Croat Democratic Union – HDZ BiH) and the heads of the parties of the “troika” of Nermin Niksic (SDP), Elmedin Konakovic (NiP) and Edin Forto (Our Party – NS).
