After Bosnia’s Constitutional Court repealed conclusions the parliament of the country’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity adopted regarding the transfer of competencies from the state to the entity, BiH Presidency member, Milorad Dodik, said that “RS is going its own path" and that it will "continue to do what it considers best for it".
Dodik’s comments refer to the decision by the Constitutional Court to repeal the conclusions and provisions of a Declaration of the RS National Assembly from December 10 last year. At that session, RS lawmakers expressed support for Dodik’s initiative to withdraw the entity from BiH judicial institutions, the tax authority and the Armed Forces, and for it to establish parallel institutions in those sectors.

According to Dodik, the BiH Constitutional Court “has nothing to do” with the matter. Dodik argued that the court should only consider whether state-level laws are in line with the Constitution.
“To me, it seems frivolous and completely outside the law and the Constitution. A declaration is an act, a declarative consent of a body, but they give themselves the right to do anything if it goes against Republika Srpska,” Dodik said, according to the RTRS.
