Milorad Dodik, president of Republika Srpska (RS) entity, has accused Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Prosecutor’s Office of political persecution after being summoned for questioning as a suspect in a case related to the alleged undermining of the constitutional order.

"The legal absurdity of Bosnia and Herzegovina is best reflected in the fact that an unconstitutional institution is discussing the Constitution. The BiH Prosecutor’s Office has summoned me to give a statement tomorrow (Friday) as a suspect in the alleged overthrow of the constitutional order—just because I carried out my constitutionally and legally mandated duty following the decisions of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska,” Dodik stated on social media platform X.

He reiterated his stance that the Prosecutor’s Office itself is unconstitutional.

"The BiH Prosecutor’s Office is an unconstitutional entity and has no authority to speak about the Constitution. Institutions that are prohibited from operating in Republika Srpska do not exist within the BiH Constitution. The speed at which they reacted shows that this was all pre-planned—a continuation of political persecution. Prosecutors from the Federation, acting under political orders, continue to abuse their unconstitutional position for a political witch hunt," Dodik said.

He also declared that he would not appear before the court, dismissing it as a politically motivated institution.

"I will not go to their political court because Serbs no longer submit to inquisitions! Serbs engage only in discussions about the organization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as written in the Constitution and the Dayton Peace Agreement! Today, they put me on trial because they cannot put millions of Serbs on trial for refusing to be disenfranchised in their own land. But let them know—Republika Srpska is not and will never be anyone’s colony!"

Dodik concluded by asserting that Republika Srpska would remain independent in its decision-making:

"We are masters of our own land, we decide for ourselves, and we will obey only our own Constitution—not the will of those who seek to crush Srpska through politically motivated trials!"
