Dodik pays not to serve one-year prison sentence

"Ruling on the request of the defence of convicted Milorad Dodik to replace the imposed prison sentence with a fine, the Court, in accordance with legal provisions, issued a decision, after the opinion of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, accepting the defence’s proposal and replacing the prison sentence with a monetary penalty," the court stated.

The defence team for Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, had previously indicated it would file this request after the Appellate Panel of the BiH Court upheld a ruling sentencing him to one year in prison and imposing a six-year ban on political activity.
