There’s no going back, not even in the face of sanctions, the leader of the ruling Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) party in Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik said Tuesday, adding that his party will promote the RS’ programme of independence within BiH.
“This program will be discussed today by the SNSD leadership so we could hold a session of the party’s Main Board that at Pale (a town near Sarajevo) by the end of this month,” Dodik told reporters in Banja Luka before the session of the SNSD leadership session.
“If we leave such a loose cannon as the Constitutional Court is to start making decisions, the RS will be abolished very soon. Our assessment is that there is no going back. We’ve prepared all the conditions for the RS to continue to function. We’re against conflict and we’re ready for dialogue. The RS will not conduct any armed actions unless attacked. We believe that Muslims can do something paramilitary. We’re very serious about this and we will not back down in the face of threats and sanctions,” Dodik added.
He stated that the SNSD leadership will consider “the violations of the Constitution of BiH and reiterated that the consents on the formation of the Armed Forces of BiH will be withdrawn, and the laws on the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH, the Indirect Taxation Authority, State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) will be declared null and void, after which the Republika Srpska should form its own intelligence structure.
Dodik added that SIPA should be banned from operating in the RS.
The SNSD leadership session began at 5:00 PM Tuesday in the premises of the Banja Luka City Board.
