Milorad Dodik, the President of Bosnia's Republika Srpska entity, strongly reacted to the statement of Kosovo prime minister Albin Kurti, who said he would not allow the “creation of some sort of Republika Srpska” in the north of Kosovo.
Albin Kurti should deal with the international obligations he needs to meet and not with Republika Srpska, which is not here for a comparison but for having to be respected as a political-legal fact, Dodik said in response.
Dodik also said that it is “exactly this Republika Srpska which will not allow that BiH ever accepts it is normal to seize someone's land and forcibly proclaim a parastate which Kosovo is today.”
“This is the essence of Kurti's bitterness with Republika Srpska,” Dodik told Srna news agency.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the countries in Europe that does not recognise Kosovo's independence, due to the objection of Republika Srpska, the Serb-majority entity with Dodik at the helm.
