BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik said that the country’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity "is stable regardless of everything that is being tried to destabilise it” and that ten countries would be willing to grant it recognition as an independent country at this moment, without naming those countries.
“The Republika Srpska will continue to build up and develop, regardless of the conditions from the EU and the blocking of the financing for initiated projects. RS has its economic and political partners. As many as ten countries in the world would currently recognize an independent RS”, Dodik said.
He announced that “soon all RS citizens, no matter where they are, will receive identification cards with which they will exercise all the rights of the Republika Srpska”.
Speaking about the current situation in the world, Dodik pointed out that it is obvious that the world's limited energy resources are crucial and that an energy community that will include Republika Srpska will be established.
He said he recently discussed this with Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban.
Dodik also commented on BiH’s path toward EU membership.
“That is important for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but I doubt that this kind of Bosnia and Herzegovina with international administration and Office of the High Representative can make any progress on that,” he said.
