Sergej Barbarez’s side delivered an engaging performance against Panama, with the coaching staff using the dress rehearsal to make additional assessments and distribute playing time among the squad members ahead of the World Cup. The match served as the final test before Bosnia and Herzegovina’s first appearance at a World Cup in twelve years.
Speaking after the match, head coach Sergej Barbarez said he was satisfied with what he had seen, particularly given the large number of substitutions he made in order to give as many players as possible an opportunity to play.
“Some of the players I substituted were a little upset,” Barbarez said, adding that such a reaction demonstrates the desire and competitive spirit within the squad. The coach stressed that it is important for all players to be ready and involved, as the team will need the full depth of its roster during the World Cup.

He particularly highlighted the energy and attitude shown by the team before what will be the biggest challenge for this generation of Bosnia and Herzegovina footballers.

The Dragons also enjoyed tremendous support from the stands at Energizer Park, where thousands of Bosnia and Herzegovina fans created an almost home-like atmosphere and once again demonstrated how much the national team means to the Bosnian community in the United States.
With their preparations now complete, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s full focus turns to the World Cup, where the team will aim to make a strong impression in its second appearance on football’s biggest stage.
