British pop star Dua Lipa published a story on her Instagram on Friday, recommending her followers to watch the film 'Quo Vadis, Aida?' by Bosnian filmmaker Jasmila Zbanic, calling it a “powerful story” that moved her to tears.
“An absolute must see and a Bosnian proposal for the Oscars and Golden Globes,” Lipa wrote alongside a screenshot of a scene in the film that describes the horrors of the war in Srebrenica, Bosnian eastern town.
The film was released in the UK on Friday.
“A deeply emotional story looking back on the Srebrenica genocide. The powerful story that moved me to tears and made me reflect on so many heartbreaking stories I was told growing up,” she added.
Dua Lipa is a London-born pop star of Kosovo origins with nearly 60 million followers on this social network.
