The House of Representatives of the Dutch Parliament has requested the government to explore the possibilities of sanctioning the President of BiH's Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik.
Among the proposed sanctions is a ban on Dodik entering the Netherlands.
According to Dutch media, this request was made following a proposal by MP Kati Piri from the GroenLinks-PvdA parliamentary group, who believes that the president of the RS entity poses a threat to the stability of the Western Balkans.
It was also requested that the government consider ways in which Dodik could be sanctioned at the level of the European Union.
This decision by the Dutch Parliament comes shortly after Dutch Member of the European Parliament Tineke Strik visited Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Germany and Austria earlier this month banned entry to Dodik, RS Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic (SNSD), and RS National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandic (United Srpska).
