Elderly returnees to Visegrad in Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Fadil and Ajsa Memisevic, were severely beaten and robbed in their own home on the first day of Ramadan and were found Friday night around 6 pm, tied up and with serious injuries on their bodies.

The masked perpetrator broke into the couple’s house, rummaged through their belongings, where they stole money, and then ran away, leaving the husband and wife who are in their late 80s tied and helpless.

Bilal Memisevic, the head of the Visegrad congregation of the BiH Islamic Community (MIZ), told Preporod.info, that after being provided first aid at the Visegrad Health Center, they were sent to Gorazde for further medical treatment.

“The perpetrator(s) entered through the window, and when he was leaving, he also broke down the door. They were tied with rope, beaten and mistreated. They had some money, everything was taken from them,” the imam said.

The police briefly told N1 that they will make a statement today and that more details will be known then.
