The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Bosnia and Herzegovina said that the news published Wednesday night with the title "Erdogan's party refused to adopt bill on recognition of Srebrenica genocide" by many media outlets is malicious.
They said the news was “riddled with contradictions and is an attempt to misinform with the intention of directing the BiH public in the direction opposite to the truth, instead of accurate information, which is the basis and essence of journalism.”
They recalled that the Republic of Turkey with all its institutions recognizes the genocide in Srebrenica and in this regard accepts the decisions of international courts without the need for an additional law.
In a video message published on the 28th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, they recalled, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan used the term genocide on several occasions and openly condemned “those denying the genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina despite the decisions of international courts.” Additionally, yesterday, six parliamentary parties in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, including the AK Party and the MHP, adopted a joint declaration on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica.
