Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed concerns about the political vulnerability of Bosnia and Herzegovina during his visit to Belgrade. Speaking at a joint press conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Erdogan emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the Balkans, noting that Bosnia and Herzegovina is in a precarious political position that needs to be addressed urgently.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina is politically very vulnerable, and this must change as soon as possible,” Erdogan said, underscoring the fragile nature of the country's political environment. He added that Serbia could play a key role in this process, offering a “constructive contribution” to efforts to stabilize the region.
Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey's commitment to safeguarding stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting that regional peace remains a priority for his administration. “Turkey is determined to protect the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he stated.
The Turkish President also stressed the importance of economic cooperation between Serbia and Turkey, describing the current period as a “golden era” in bilateral relations. He pointed to trade and investment as key drivers of this positive relationship, stating that economic ties between the two nations have the potential to grow even further.
“Our trade exchange has exceeded €2 billion, which shows there is plenty of room for improvement,” Erdogan noted, praising the deepening economic partnership between the two countries.
Over the past 12 years, Turkish investments in Serbia have created jobs for over 960,000 people, and Erdogan emphasized that these investments would continue. He also welcomed the signing of new agreements between Serbia and Turkey, expressing gratitude to Vucic and the Serb people for their hospitality.
