Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called for de-escalation and reaffirmed Turkey's support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Anadolu Agency reports.

During a phone conversation with Bakir Izetbegovic, leader of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), Erdogan emphasized that Turkey is closely monitoring developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He stressed that rising political tensions must be resolved swiftly within the framework of the constitutional order and the rule of law.

Erdogan noted that Turkey has already issued necessary warnings to Milorad Dodik, President of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, amid growing concerns over separatist actions. He underlined that the current crisis is not a conflict among Bosnia's constituent peoples but a political issue, calling for unity among all actors supporting the country's integrity.

The Turkish President also urged the international community to take a firm stance against separatist moves.

Erdogan's appeal comes amid heightened tensions following recent legislation by Republika Srpska authorities banning the operations of state judicial and security institutions within the entity. Plans are also underway to adopt a new entity constitution and establish separate border police, steps seen as part of a secessionist agenda.

BiH Presidency Chair Zeljka Cvijanovic is expected to meet with Erdogan on Saturday, following a separate visit by Presidency member Denis Becirovic. Erdogan has previously reiterated that Bosnia's unity and territorial integrity are of fundamental importance and that separatist approaches are unacceptable.
