“We congratulate Milanko Kajganic on his appointment as BiH Chief Prosecutor. The United States will continue to work to ensure the independence of the State Prosecutor's Office (SPO) and BiH's entire criminal justice system. The SPO must operate with integrity and impartiality and on behalf of all citizens of BiH. The chief prosecutor has a crucial role in ensuring these standards are upheld,” the US Embassy tweeted.

On Wednesday the FBiH Parliament adopted the proposal to appoint missing judges to the FBiH Constitutional Court and on Thursday, Milanko Kajganic was named BiH Chief Prosecutor. In his address, Kajganic said he will focus on the back log of war crimes cases as well as the fight against organized crime, pointing out that there will be no place for the employees of BiH law enforcement institutions in contact with perpetrators of organized crime in the country.
