EU lawmakers demand tougher stance on Serbia following Mladic funeral

Members of the European Parliament have called for a decisive European Union response towards authorities in Belgrade during a plenary debate addressing the funeral of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladic and the glorification of war crimes in Serbia. While several MEPs questioned the continuation of accession negotiations, others urged an immediate suspension of EU funding and political ties with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's ruling party.
