EUFOR Commander visits Banja Luka, meets RS officials and security representatives

The visit was part of EUFOR’s continued engagement with institutional and security officials across Bosnia and Herzegovina, with discussions focused on the current security environment and EUFOR’s mandate under Operation Althea.

During the visit, Major General Fronda met with Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minic. The talks focused on EUFOR’s impartial support to the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all citizens.

Fronda reaffirmed that EUFOR remains fully committed to stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in line with its mandate.

The EUFOR Commander also met with Republika Srpska Police Director Siniša Kostrešević at the Zalužani Training Centre. According to EUFOR, the discussions emphasized the importance of stability, close cooperation and respect for the rule of law as key elements in preserving security across the country.

As part of the visit, Fronda also travelled to Kozara Barracks, where he met with members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

EUFOR said the meeting highlighted the strong cooperation between EUFOR and the Armed Forces of BiH, as well as the importance of joint engagement, interoperability and readiness in maintaining stability throughout the country.

“EUFOR remains a visible, credible, and impartial force, fully committed to supporting the authorities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through our presence, partnership, and readiness, we continue to contribute to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all citizens, in line with our mandate,” Major General Fronda said.

EUFOR said the visit reaffirmed its continued engagement with authorities and security institutions at all levels, as well as its commitment to working in close partnership to safeguard peace, stability and security across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
