“EUFOR is an impartial force focused on providing a secure environment in BiH"
“EUFOR is a capable, impartial and multinational force, which is focused on supporting the local authorities and providing a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the spokesperson of the EU military mission in the country, Catherine Smyth-Barrett, said in the context of the ongoing EUFOR Quick Response 2022 exercise.
Soldiers from 20 countries are participating in the EUFOR Quick Response 2022 exercise in Bosnia and Herzegovina from October 17 to November 22. The goal of the exercise is to “demonstrate EUFOR’s capability and determination to contribute to a safe and secure environment for BiH citizens.”
“Exercises are essential to reach and maintain the highest levels of interoperability and cooperation. We exercise to enhance the readiness, flexibility and capability of EUFOR. We exercise to confirm our skills and to identify best practices. We exercise to raise the ability of our troops from 20 contributing nations to work together as one team,” Smyth-Barrett said.
The mandate of EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina was renewed for another year at a UN Security Council session on Wednesday.
